From Day One
I always knew I would be famous.
My mother reminds me that at an early age, I would run around the house screaming my initials "WFJG!" at the top of my lungs with a lyrical crescendo just
like the call letters of a radio station or television network.
I've been motivated by fame for as long as I can recall. There's just something extremely fascinating about stardom that I wanted to experience.
And that's exactly what I've been working towards. Let me bring you up to speed on what I've accomplished so far in the pursuit of my
fame around my entrepreneurial dreams. As an author, career coach and speaker known as the"Passion Prophet," I've written 11 books
I have 12 websites, I have one of the longest-running email newsletters on the planet in which every week for the past 8 years and 12 weeks, I've composed a new
lyrical life-management poem and thus have a 431 strong archive of
Walt's Life Rhymes, and amassed a host of satisfied customers and coaching clients,
I've had publicity.
I've been advertised.
I've been interviewed.
I've had exposure.
I've had attention.
I've had my articles appear in major publications
I've been interviewed on local television
I've had media coverage in Essence, Entrepreneur, Time, Black Enterprise and many others
But I've not yet mastered true fame (I've also developed a Fame Scale which breaks down the different levels of fame from
local fame, industry fame, national fame and planetary fame). The most ironic thing, is that I've always known myself to be
an introvert; a home-body who would rather spend a quiet evening at home on the computer than out at a club. That might explain
why, given the elements of fame that I've been able to accumulate in my travels, I've yet to achieve the full height of stardom of
which I've dreamt. This book, however, will change that.
That's what it's all about. Not only does it represent an informational product I am selling, it also represents my own commitment to
achieving my dream. For within its pages is the manifestation of the commitment that I need to make in order to achieve the very goal
which I purport the book will help others achieve.
The obvious challenge, of course, is that if I commit to writing a book that shows others how to achieve fame based on my own success,
then it needs to happen. No one wants to read or purchase a book about my attempt at fame. It has to be real. It has to happen. It's a
leap of faith, and one that will put my credibility on the line.
They say"You teach best what you need to learn." So let the lesson begin!
