The Semantics of Bliss

Call it what you will, my friend
but names I won't debate
For bliss by any other name
is still a hallowed state

I call it fame and fortune
just rewards for earthly worth
You say it's ego-driven
and there's greater things on earth

I call it nomad freedom
with no things or ties that bind
You say I fear commitment
and the threat of being confined

I call it ageless living
finding youth through fountain's tao
You call it myths and magic
I should be beyond by now

I call it my ideal
demure and pleasing to the eyes
You say that's superficial
for what's real might be disguised

Set your goals and seek them
keep them hidden 'til they're earned
For this quest comes with a secret
that perhaps like me you've learned:

The world enjoys negating
what you want and who you kiss
Avoid the trap debating
the semantics of your bliss

COMMENTARY:
As we approach the end of another year, you'll be inclined to set some goals to accomplish in the one that approaches. My best advice to you is to set your sights for the stars, but don't seek validation or plan strategy with those who can't see beyond their immediate world. As much as they may love you, or have your best interests at heart, they can only speak from realities they know. Whether it be in money, career or romance, seek counsel from the angels who soar the heavens you dream to reach. For only those who fly possess the tricks of flight to teach.

Don't get caught justifying your dreams.
